GAFFNEY, SC: The Limestone men’s soccer team played a tough match against the Falcons of Pfeiffer University, falling 4-1 in the conference match. Pfeiffer’s Davi Lorenzo scored just 1:47 into the match for an early lead. Cihan Nuhoglu added a second goal for the Falcons shortly before halftime for a 2-0 lead. Hard work by Limestone’s David Ash created a great scoring opportunity for Joel Moran, who netted the Saints only goal of the game in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, the Saints would allow two more from the Falcons by Ho’okela Sanborn and Oscar Zepeda for the 4-1 final. Head Coach Eric Alsop was disappointed with the loss, but feels his team still hasn’t reached their full potential. “We are a great team, but haven’t been able to find ourselves yet.” Alsop continued to say that, “We have 5 freshmen in the starting lineup that are doing an excellent job, but still learning.” Alsop praised David Ash for his hard work today, as well as Timmy Costanzo, and keeper Nick Gumpert. The Saints are
finding a bit of bad luck this season with
several key players out with season ending injuries.
Their next match will be against USC Upstate
on Monday, October 17th at 3:30 p.m. in
