SAINTS FALL 3-0

WILSON, NC:  The Limestone men’s soccer team lost 3-0 to Erskine College Wednesday evening to put the team at 2-6-2 overall, and 0-4 in the conference.

Today’s game was a tough one for the Saints as the young squad is battling several injuries.  Erskine got on the scoreboard early in the game off a corner kick headed into the goal in the 18th minute.  The Fleet scored again in the first half on a free kick from 20 yards out, and tallied a third goal at the beginning of the second half to finish off the scoring.

Limestone’s Giancarlo Rodriguez stepped up as the Saints keeper recording 12 saves, while starting goalie Ryan Robinson is injured.  The Saints continued to battle throughout the night, but were not able to put up a score.  “It was a tough game,” said Head Coach Eric Alsop.  “We’re in the process of regrouping, while several players are out with injuries.”

Limestone will continue to work through the line-up changes in preparation for their next contest on Saturday, October 1st in Wilson, NC against Barton College at 3:00 p.m.
