COME BACK - DENY TORNADOS

After a pair of breakaway goals from Rasim Breznica and Robert Moore, Brevard led 2-0 just eleven minutes into the contest. The Tornados pushed that lead to 3-0 on a goal from Justin Holstein in the 28th minute. Limestone began to chip away when David Ash set a cross in front of the net and Tom Beattie’s header found its mark in the 31st minute. The Saints trailed 3-1 at the break, but played an inspired game in the second half. Limestone controlled the contest throughout the second half, out shooting Brevard 16-4 in the frame. Ash found the net out off a rebound in front of the net to pull Limestone to within one in the 65th minute. With twenty minutes to play, Joel Moran received a cross in front of the net, averted a defender, and scored to tie the game at three. With thirteen minutes
remaining Breznica broke the Limestone
defense and got a clean shot, but goalkeeper Ryan Robinson made an
outstanding
diving save. Robinson made another
outstanding save on a header from For the game, Limestone outshot Brevard 24-12. A very physical contest, the game featured eight yellow cards and 33 fouls between the two teams. “We settled down and played our game in the second half,” Head Coach Eric Alsop said. “The first half showed our inexperience, but we were able to settle down and make some adjustments. David Ash had a career game (1 goal, 1 assist), and Joel Moran was outstanding on the outside as well.” The Saints will
